Brooks, Love Break Qualifying Records in Late Model Stock Car and Street Stocks Divisions

CONCORD, N.C. (April 2, 2012) – Opening Night was one for the record books on many accounts, including record-breaking speeds and quick times by Kenny Brooks and Brian Love in the Wilburn Auto Body Late Model Stock Car and Pepsi Street Stocks divisions’ qualifying sessions. Brooks, of Concord, N.C., laid down a solid lap at 16.157 seconds and 111.407 mph in the Wilburn Auto Body Late Model Stock Car division. His lap broke Bo Foust's previously held record of 16.287 seconds and 110.518 mph on October 29, 2005. Love, of Mount Pleasant, N.C., also broke a track record in the Pepsi Street Stocks division with his lap of 19.099 seconds and 94.246 mph. His lap broke Jeff Melton’s previously held record of 19.204 seconds and 93.730 mph on September 12, 2009. Next Saturday night, April 7, is Kid’s Night at the Races Sponsored by Town and Country Ford at Concord Speedway. Kids 12 and under will be admitted free! There will be racecar ride for the kids, bounce houses, face painting and a balloon artist. The racing show will feature 100 laps for the Wilburn Auto Body Late Model division, 40 laps for the Pepsi Street Stocks, 25 laps for the Town and Country Ford Fast & Furious Fours and 25 laps for our Vintage Sportsman division! Grandstand admission is just 15 dollars and kids 12 and under are admitted for free. Also new for this year, the speedway will be offering a Senior, Teen and Military discount admission of 10 dollars.
